IKBC Hosts RX K Fairs Delegation in Seoul

The Iraq-Korea Business Council (IKBC), in coordination with the Office of the Commercial Attaché of the Republic of Iraq in Seoul, received a delegation from RX K Fairs at the IKBC Office in Seoul to discuss opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the field of international exhibitions, trade fairs, and business networking initiatives between Iraq and the Republic of Korea.

 

The RX K Fairs delegation was headed by Mr. S.K. Hong, President and CEO of RX K Fairs, accompanied by Mr. Jun Lee, Portfolio Director, and Ms. Doa Kim, Senior Project Manager. The Iraqi side was represented by, Dr. Odey Mohammed Mezaal, Commercial Attaché of the Republic of Iraq, and Mr. Ali Nawab, Administrative Manager of IKBC in Seoul.

 

During the meeting, IKBC presented an overview of its activities and mission in strengthening economic and commercial relations between Iraq and Korea, as well as its role in supporting Iraqi and Korean companies through business facilitation, matchmaking activities, and trade promotion initiatives.

Both parties discussed prospects for cooperation in organizing and promoting Korean trade fairs and exhibitions in Iraq, facilitating the participation of Iraqi companies and investors in Korean exhibitions, and enhancing B2B networking opportunities between companies from both countries.

The discussions also highlighted several sectors with strong cooperation potential, including shipbuilding, ocean safety, food industries, cosmetics, furniture, and industrial manufacturing.

Special attention was given to upcoming major exhibitions organized by RX K Fairs, including Korea Ocean Expo 2026 and KORMARINE 2027.

In addition, both sides discussed the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at establishing a formal framework for future cooperation and long-term partnership between IKBC and RX K Fairs.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Ali Nawab presented a traditional Iraqi plaque on behalf of the Chairman of IKBC to Mr. S.K. Hong as a gesture reflecting the friendly relations and growing cooperation between the two sides.

 

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing their interest in continuing discussions and expanding cooperation in future trade, exhibition, and business development initiatives between Iraq and Korea.
