A Shared Day of Pride

Celebrating Iraq and Korea’s National Days – October 3

Today, October 3rd, marks a unique and meaningful occasion for both Iraq and the Republic of Korea — nations that proudly share this day as their National Day.

For Iraq, it commemorates the country’s independence and admission to the League of Nations in 1932, a historic step affirming sovereignty and unity.

For Korea, it celebrates Gaecheonjeol (개천절) — the National Foundation Day, honoring the legendary founding of the first Korean kingdom, Gojoseon, by Dangun Wanggeom in 2333 BCE.

On this shared day of national pride, the Iraq–Korea Business Council (IKBC) extends heartfelt congratulations to the people of both Iraq and Korea. This remarkable coincidence reminds us of the deep respect and friendship between our two nations — united by history, vision, and a spirit of cooperation.

As we celebrate together, IKBC reaffirms its mission to strengthen the economic, cultural, and technological partnership that continues to bring Iraq and Korea closer every year.

Happy National Day to Iraq and Korea!
With pride and friendship, from the Iraq–Korea Business Council (IKBC)
