Iraq-Korea Business Council Holds Its First Session
The Iraqi-Korean Business Council held its inaugural session on May 13, 2025, marking an important milestone in the institutionalization of economic cooperation between Iraq and Korea. During this first meeting, members engaged in comprehensive discussions focused on the adoption of the Council’s internal bylaws, which will serve as the foundational framework for its operations, governance, and decision-making processes.
The session also involved the formation of specialized committees, each tasked with addressing key sectors and strategic areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade, investment, education, technology, energy, and cultural exchange. These committees will lead the development and execution of sector-specific initiatives in line with the Council’s mission.
In addition, participants reviewed and approved an initial action plan outlining short-and medium-term goals, including mechanisms for engagement with stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. The session further addressed the development of collaborative programs in innovation and technology transfer, aimed at promoting sustainable economic growth and strengthening institutional capacities in both countries.
